Greenlight: Family Location Sharing
Greenlight: Family Location Sharing is a part of the new Safety feature on Greenlight’s highest-tier plan.
The objective of this project is to develop and iterate the implementation of Family Location Sharing into the current application.
Greenlight is a venture-backed fintech company focused on providing a debit card, banking app, and financial education to children. Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, and India, Greenlight also provides safety features where kids can see their family’s location and send SOS alert as well as crash detection.
DEVELOPMENT
During the initial survey, we found that 90% of our current customers are interested in the new Safety feature with Family Location Sharing being the most anticipated feature.
Tools
Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
Challenges
As Greenlight is a Saas banking app, implementing a completely new safety feature was a new challenge.
Goal
Successfully implement family location sharing as part of the safety feature suite.
COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
For the competitive analysis portion, we looked up to our direct competitors; Life360 and FindMy iPhone.
CHALLENGES
What becomes our biggest challenge is 86% of our users are using IOS, which means they already have FindMy feature on their iPhones for free. So what will make ours more unique? An approach that we are trying to accomplish is to provide an easy-to-use user interface for our customers.
After a series of user interviews, we recognized that most parents want to have the ability to send a notification to the kids who have their location turned off.
The dilemma on this project is to keep the kids from feeling like they are being tracked all the time by helicopter parents.
SKETCHES
Many iteration was created to find the best solution for the user interface.
SOLUTIONS
So we decided to add the ability to customize who can see your location.
